So Margie has had two extra days off because of this snow, which has apparently shut down the United States Government. And a third day is probably coming, Tuesday night we're looking at getting at least another half foot of snow. They just have no place to put all of it. One of the crossroads we live on hasn't even been plowed since the snow started falling on Friday because they don't have any place to put the snow they take off the road. This is far from the only street in the district like this.

And now at least another half foot, if not full foot, of snow is going to fall on it again. Just crazy.

I just think they don't have the fleet of snowplows that most places do. If we get 9 more inches of snow this winter, it will be the snowiest winter ever recorded here.

With no ability to charge property taxes (only states can levy property taxes, not federal districts) it's a tough sell to put the little resources they have into being prepared for a once a decade event.

They keep all of your past years filings on file in case you misplace them and automatically fill in your past years' information on your current form. That alone makes them worth it. I actually had to pay taxes this year. $19. It was crazy.
